10 Habits you wish your dog did not have
October 4, 2008 by RS
You love your pet dog with all his quaint habits and affectionate temperament. But are they some behavioral quirks that you wish your dog could get rid of? Here is a list of some not so good habits a dog may develop.
It is up to you to train him with positive reinforcement and help diminish these tendencies.
1. Hostile towards other animals
2. Hostile towards other dogs and tends to pick a fight with them
3. Hankers persistently for your attention
4. Overly affectionate
5. Stubborn
6. Belligerent
7. A frequent barker
8. Chews up anything in sight
9. Territorial (the couch seemingly belongs to him)
10. An enthusiastic digger who can work through fences, garden patches, anywhere!
All these habits can be gradually and definitely brought down. Bad habits and negative attitudes are most effectively dealt with when your pet is very young. Train the him early and well. Older dogs too can be fine tuned to behave in the right fashion , but maybe they need a little more time to be corrected.
Love, patience, dedication and perseverance, during training, can achieve a lot, and the BT will become a mighty useful pet to have. Beyond basic characteristics, every dog is different as regards his disposition. Some are compulsive clowns, some introverts, one is outgoing and friendly, another is shy, but tough….
You should also be wary of taking the training a bit too seriously. Allow your dog his little idiosyncracies that are essentially harmless. For instance, he may allow only a certain member of your fmily to give him a bath. Allow him these preferences and accept them as a part of his nature.

Oh I appreciate this blog! I have been trying to housebreak my dog for 2 months. Your advice is super helpful
